Dania's husband served as a NAVET (Navy Electronics Technician) from 1983 - 1988 on the Blue Crew of the USS Casimir Pulaski submarine. He qualified for submarines on his first patrol and spent over 700 days under water during his time in the Navy. After his honorable discharge in 1988, he went on to work for the federal government retiring with 21 years of federal service in late 2008.
